PETA and Premature Ejaculation – A Strange Union

Vegan

When guys think about ways to improve their sexual performance they don’t often think of turning to PETA, the organization known mainly for its over the top demonstrations against animal use and abuse. But a commercial that went viral in 2014 has recently resurfaced from the group and now has more and more people wondering if their advice is actually spot on.

The Infamous Commercial

The commercial was originally released in 2014 and jumps immediately into a scene where a couple is beginning to have sex. As they quickly rip each other’s clothes off the man finds that he’s becoming a little too aroused and begins taking measures to prevents himself from reaching orgasm before the fun has even begun. He resorts to imagining Fidel Castro’s head on his girlfriend’s body but, in the end, it’s to no avail. The tagline then comes up “If you go vegan, you can last longer.”

A year later and veganism seems to be everywhere. Beyoncé just recently wrote the introduction for a vegan diet book and the eating style has taken over Hollywood and beyond. So is there any truth to the claim that adopting a plant based diet can really treat premature ejaculation?

The Diet and The Benefits

Let’s get right down to brass tacks – yes, cutting meat and dairy from your diet could easily improve your level of fitness and help to treat many cases of premature ejaculation. How does this happen? Because both meant and dairy – even the lean stuff – are still chock full of fat and even protein your body simply doesn’t need. We all know that we need a certain amount of fat and protein in our diet but the levels delivered by animal products can actually hurt our heath. The problem with too much fat are pretty obvious, but how can too much protein be bad for you?

The average adults needs about 50 grams of protein a day. That’s a fairly substantial amount and it’s one of the reasons many people think giving up meat could leave them with a deficiency for protein. But the truth is that most people take in way too much protein in a day – 100 grams or more. A small hamburger patty contains about 25 grams of protein and a single slice of cheese is packed with between 5 to 10 grams, depending on the type of cheese. Add to that the amount of protein in all the other animal products you eat in a day (meat for dinner, eggs, milk, more cheese, etc) and it’s easy to see how people can end up with way more than they need. All that extra protein, like anything else, gets converted into fat. Given that there are about 4 calories per gram of protein that can equal out to quite a lot.

On the other hand, let’s face it – we’re a country of meat eaters, so going full on vegan can be a big change for people and one most men baulk at even if it means they could treat their premature ejaculation effectively and totally naturally. So instead, more and more experts are recommending people ease their way a bit by making smaller changes that are much easier to adapt to. Swapping out dairy milk for cashew, almond, rice or hemp milk, for example, is easy to do and brings you a number of benefits. Giving up meat and cheese at breakfast is easy enough but lunch and especially dinner can be more challenging. So don’t jump into the deep end if you’re not ready.

There are plenty of great websites and cookbooks with healthy, savoury vegan options you can try for packed lunches at work or healthy dinners at home. Making these changes slowly will help your body adjust to the new diet and will keep you from feeling deprived. Best of all, the benefits of a plant based diet, including losing weight, lowering cholesterol and preventing premature ejaculation will still become evident and that could easily become the motivation you need to adopt healthier habits.
