Early and Delayed Ejaculation – What These Conditions Have in Common

Health

It’s normal for men to wish for more stamina in bed, even when they aren’t dealing with premature ejaculation. It’s equally common for men to experience early or delayed ejaculation once in a while as both of these conditions can be brought about by a number of different causes. At first glance, these two conditions would seem to have little in common. In fact, each extreme represents what the other wants – men with delayed ejaculation want to reach orgasm sooner while men dealing with premature ejaculation try to achieve more stamina. Although the two have conflicting goals, they share a number of similarities.

A Reflection of Health

Sexual health is often a reflection of a person’s overall health. This point is proven rather dramatically when you consider the role nutrition can play in sexual performance. When men complain of performance issues their doctor will immediately ask about their diet first. A diet that contains a lot of processed or fast food is common in men who experience erectile or ejaculation problems. In fact, quite often a change in diet and exercise can effectively treat premature ejaculation in many men and is one of the most popular home treatment methods in the world. Delayed ejaculation is also a reflection of poor nutrition in that it can be caused by diminished sensitivity brought about as a result of diabetes or decreased circulation. In these cases, a switch to a healthier diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and an increase in physical activity can often improve, if not cure, the problem.

Stress and Sex

Stress can have a powerful effect on the body. Increased stress levels have been associated with a greater risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and chronic pain conditions. Practices which reduce stress, on the other hand, have been found to be amazingly effective and have become increasingly popular. Both delayed and early ejaculation are often linked to high levels of stress and anxiety and many men experience these condition sporadically during times of high stress. For each condition, the treatment approach is the same – reduce levels of stress. This can be done through a number of methods including traditional methods like increasing exercise or engaging in mediation. But research has also found a number of alternative ways to beat stress which can make it easy to shake off the tension stress can bring. Watching a comedy movie, listening to music and even doing a silly walk have all been shown to significantly lower stress levels in several studies. Additionally, there are a number of well-known and researched herbs which can help to reduce acute anxiety, including Passion Flower and Ashwagandha, both of which are readily available and inexpensive.

Dual Treatments

These conditions can each be especially frustrating since finding and dealing with the root cause can take some time. Meanwhile, the longer the condition goes on, the more stress it creates which continues to make the problem worse. This vicious cycle makes treatment feel overwhelming to many men and so a dual approach to treatment is often a good way to increase the chance of long term success. Immediate treatment options treat the symptom physically while long term treatments address the underlying cause. For early ejaculation short term treatment options include cock rings, numbing agents and prescription medication. For delayed ejaculation, immediate solutions include sex toys, heat sensitive sex lubricants and modified sexual positions to increase friction.

Delayed and early ejaculation don’t seem like they go hand in hand but, in fact, they represent two extremes of the same problem. Having a better understanding of how each can be triggered and how they can be safely and naturally treated, men gain a better understanding of their body’s own natural requirements. This gives men the opportunity to take control of their sexual well-being while improving their performance and satisfaction.
