How Your Morning Breakfast Could Be Causing Premature Ejaculation

Breakfast

Premature ejaculation is one of the most common forms of sexual dysfunction and it is estimated that nearly all men experience the problem at least once in their lives. For some men, premature ejaculation happens once or twice and simply never becomes an issue but, for others, early ejaculation is common and lifelong struggle. The roots of sexual performance issues are as varied and unique as the people who struggle with the problem. While there are no hard and fast rules about what causes ejaculation problems for all men, there are a few common denominators which, when addressed, can help to effectively treat this and other sexual performance issues.

How You Fuel Your Body … And Your Sex Life

The role nutrition plays in a person’s overall health has been in the news a lot lately. Information about organic farming, genetically modified seeds and whole grains have revamped the eating habits of millions. While the varied health benefits of a healthier, plant based diet have become well known, the effects this way of eating can have on a person’s sex life are just beginning to be explored.

The cliché about breakfast being the most important meal of the day is more than just an Old Wives Tale. Research has found that the breakfast you choose can have a direct impact on how well you eat for the rest of the day as well as having an impact on your energy, focus and mental clarity.

For many people, breakfast is something they barely think about. Mornings are so rushed that a lot of people simply grab whatever they can and they figure they’ll “make up for it” at lunch or dinner. Running through the drive-thru for a breakfast sandwich may seem like no big deal but stop to consider exactly what you’re putting into your body. Fast food options, no matter what you choose, are typically chock full of the three ingredients most likely to cause bloating, weight gain and lethargy: sugar, fat and salt. Even convenience foods meant to be prepared at home have high levels of these ingredients, making them just as detrimental to your health as something from a chain fast food restaurant.

Beginning the day by loading your system down with sugar, salt and fat sets your body up to crash mid-morning which usually leads to another poor choice – the mid-morning snack. Once again, it’s usually a “Grab & Go” snack option which means donuts, chips, candy bars or something similar. This second poor and rushed choice leads to another crash, another mad grab for food and the cycle simply repeats itself throughout the day.

This constant cycle of poor eating habits, fluctuating energy levels and rushed meals has a number of physical and mental side effects. Weight gain, high blood pressure, bad skin, poor mental clarity, difficult concentrating and chronic fatigue are bad enough but the problems this cycle can cause reaches directly into the bedroom. This type of diet contributes to poor circulation which plays a major role in male sexual performance and can exacerbate problems such as premature ejaculation.

How to Break the Cycle

The best way to ensure you’re setting yourself up to succeed with a healthier diet is to start the day with fresh, whole foods. Eating a clean diet doesn’t necessarily mean having to have a passion for cooking, especially first thing in the morning. A good, healthy breakfast doesn’t have to take a lot of time or energy to create and with more and more people becoming concerned about their health, quick and easy options that retain their health benefits are becoming increasingly common. Oatmeal, high fibre cereals with almond or soy milk, egg white scrambles and breakfast muffins can all be quick and easy options that fuel your body with the right vitamins and nutrients so that you’ll perform well all day … and all night.

Sexual performance issues such as impotence and premature ejaculation often have a number of root causes, including a poor diet. Starting your day off with a breakfast high in fat, salt and sugar primes you for a roller coaster of energy, mood swings and weight fluctuation. Changing your patterns with regards to breakfast alone can go a long way in encouraging better eating habits and, ultimately, fewer problems between the sheets.
