Sex Therapy

Many times, a product or treatment is developed with one goal in mind but then is found to have an a different, more effective application. Coca-Cola, for example, was originally developed to help treat anxiety and headaches and was even prescribed for those coming off a morphine addiction. Since then, it has undergone a massive change and is now one of the most popular beverages in the world. Viagra is another example. Originally developed to treat a variety of heart conditions, researchers realized the side effect of harder erections made it the perfect treatment for erectile dysfunction.

In the world of premature ejaculation, off label treatments can help men who already may have taken on the standard treatment options such as adopting a healthier diet or increasing physical activity. In these cases, thinking outside the box means considering off label uses for other products. Here we’ve rounded up five of the most interesting and innovative options for men today.

Kegels!

Kegels for menKegel exercises help to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. The exercises have been used by women for generations but now men are finally realizing how beneficial they can be. The exercise is simple enough and can be done by anyone and in any setting. Simply contract your muscles as if you’re trying to stop the flow of urine. Hold the contraction for a count of five, then release. Repeat in sets of 5 or 10 for as many times as you’d like. Over time, this increases the strength of the pelvis floor which, in turn, can help improve the control men have over their orgasm.

Masturbation

Masturbation as a way to help treat premature ejaculation can seem counter-intuitive at first but it’s surprisingly effective. The treatment is sometimes referred to as controlled masturbation and involves slowly bringing the penis to arousal and then masturbating until just before orgasm is reached. At that point men, should stop and squeeze the penis in an attempt to prevent orgasm from happening. Sometimes simply removing all stimulation is enough to let the moment pass and other times squeezing the penis firmly is necessary. When done over time, this method shows men how to read and interpret the signals their body gives as it goes through arousal to climax. With this insight, many men are able to better control when they climax.
